In most states, childcare workers are required by law to complete mandated reporter training covering how to recognize and report suspected child abuse and neglect. ComplyNest lets you track who has completed this training and when it needs to be renewed.

What to Track

  • The date the training was completed
  • The name of the training provider or program
  • The certificate or completion confirmation document
  • The expiration or renewal date (if your state requires periodic renewal)

How to Record Mandated Reporter Training

  1. Open the staff member's profile in Staff Training.
  2. Click the Credentials tab.
  3. Click Add Credential and select Mandated Reporter Training from the credential type list.
  4. Enter the completion date and expiration date if applicable.
  5. Upload the completion certificate.
  6. Click Save.

Renewal Tracking

If your state requires mandated reporter training to be renewed periodically (for example, every three years), enter the expiration date so ComplyNest can alert you before it lapses. If there is no renewal requirement in your state, simply leave the expiration date blank.

Mandated reporter requirements vary significantly by state, including who is covered and how often training must be renewed. Always verify what is required in your state with your licensing agency or legal counsel.
